Really interesting analogy between the newspaper and airline industries. However it concerns me that the writer of the post uses the removing of ads as one of the business class up-sell. This not a realistic business model, because subscribers would have to pay a huge yearly fee to compete with the amount of money brought in by ad revenue. I understand the introduction of extra features like other news sources on the site, and I would add additional tools and passive personalization.
Sometimes I wonder where the time has gone. What have I been spending valuable conscious minutes? Should they have been spent more wisely? Why haven’t I gotten certain errands taken care of, or exercised, or worked on creative projects? Sometimes it is spent vegging out on the couch reading or watching movies/tv. Rarely is it spent on surfing the interwebs, since my job is working on web stuff. Mostly though, my time goes to food.
Or, I should say, the making of food. I would consider myself a decent baker, and an average cook. Usually I start with a recipe I find online or in cookbooks, but tweaked slightly to fit my needs. So… In order to make myself feel more productive, here is a list of the best things I’ve made since the new year:
Miso Soup with lots of veggies (based on Alicia Silverston’s Kind Diet, but skipping the more exotic ingredients that I dont have and added extra veggies. Also sometimes adding pork potstickers from trader joes. Thus making a vegan recipe totally not vegan)
Sambar home fries (used sambar powder and crushed tomatoes)
